Have you ever just wanted to pack up your bags and go overseas?

Go exploring, experience different cultures, languages and cuisines, and come back with pictures you can post on your wall and stories you can keep for a lifetime.

My friend, you’ve got wanderlust and this article is perfect for you! This week, we asked 10 people from our creative crew, the Mavericks, “What is your dream destination and why?”

Here’s what they said, in no particular order:

Aaron: Paris

Ever since I was a little boy, the dream of standing in front of the Eiffel Tower and getting that classic photo, with a cliché cheesy grin, was prevalent. Some say it’s not that great, or it was a bit of a disappointment – but somehow that doesn’t lessen my infatuation with the city at all!

Debbie: Italy

Because it is the home of pizza and pasta, some iconic monuments and ancient ruins. Mostly for the food.

Sophie: Prince Edward Island

My dream destination would be Prince Edward Island in Canada, because it’s where my favourite book is set: Anne of Green Gables.

Alex S: South America

My dream destination would have to be anywhere in South America. I really enjoy travelling to places which push me outside of my comfort zone. South America is huge and there are so many places to explore. There’s plenty of history, and it’s relatively cheap compared to Europe or North America. On the top of my list would have to be Peru’s Machu Picchu. With so much history and meaning, I’d love the chance to hike its surroundings, take in the scenery and experience this 8th wonder of the world all for myself.

Kasey: Europe

My dream destination would be Europe; I’ve never been and part of my family come from there. It would be great to visit my roots, and it’s on my bucket list to walk from Spain to the Netherlands!

Dana: France

My dream destination is definitely France. I speak a bit of French but I would love to be able to surround myself in the language to practice and extend my speaking skills. I would also love to learn more about the culture and history, not just of famous Paris, but of the other various un-discussed cities as well.

Jorja: Barcelona

To go to Barcelona, Spain because of the beauty of the Spanish culture. I want to see the cathedrals and the Picasso Museum, and to walk down the streets amplified with boisterous activity. I want full immersion into this as yet-unseen city of my dreams. The food, language and art are rich with history and fun! So that’s why Barcelona is my dream destination. Also because Cheetah Girls 2 was filmed there…

Hazel: USA

I’ve been to LA but I’d love to go back to America and do an ultimate road trip. There are so many options I wouldn’t know where to start, but that’s the beauty in it. I’d escape our winter for their summer, ideally…

Ruben: Wales

Wales might not be the most exotic place on Earth to us from New Zealand, but it is nevertheless my dream destination at the moment, and not just because I was born there – seeing as I remember next to nothing of it. It is the country’s rugged and varied natural beauty that plays a large factor in its attraction to me, from rolling hills to sweeping forests and white sea cliffs. It is a country rich in history, and this is also a major attraction to me. It’s millennia of human habitation, from the Romans to the present day, are evident all around you, in the forms of ancient buildings dotted everywhere you go – be they grand medieval castles or merely the centuries-old town pubs.

Faga: Yellowstone National Park

My dream destination is Yellowstone National Park, USA. It is such an overwhelmingly beautiful place and is probably what the world would’ve looked like before humans came along!
