Last month Westfield set out on the nationwide hunt for New Zealand’s next Young Stylist. The finalists are now waiting for your votes.
The Westfield Fashion Collective had the hard job judging all of the competitors, but they’ve now whittled it down to four young talents who could be the 2015 Westfield Young Stylist!
The finalists were chosen from all over the country to come up to Auckland’s Westfield St Lukes for the ultimate challenge: Style four models and then talk about their styling choices in front of the entire shopping centre.
To enter the competition, they had to submit a short video of themselves explaining their style and how they thought they were perfect for the role; quite a different atmosphere talking about it all in front of a big audience!
I went along to their St Lukes showcase, hosted by fashionista Amber Peebles and celebrity stylist Sally-Ann Moffat and I was really impressed with how the four finalists handled themselves, having only been thrown into it earlier that day. They all had realistic and relatable outfits, using all the brands you find in the mall, so their wisdom was great for everyone.
All four girls range from 17 to 23 and have their own fashion blogs where they share their inspiration. You can watch the showcase of all four stylists online now. Abby Button from Christchurch, Maxine Fourie from Auckland, Anna Squires from Auckland and Chloe Larkin from Wanaka strut their stuff alongside a male model and three female models.
You are able to vote online for your favourite and if you’re in Auckland, you can check it all out in the flesh as they complete their final showcase at Westfield Albany this Thursday (27th) ahead of the voting closing on 31st August.
