The Weekly Music Haul: 17th April 2015

By PATRICK CAMPBELL.

Happy Tali album release week! I am happy because Tali’s new album Wolves comes out today, and it’s really great, so you should all go buy it (after you read my Haul).

Tali – Wolves

As I said just, Tali’s album is out now. It’s incredible and she has worked so hard, so go and support her by buying it here. Tali is one of the most incredibly talented musicians in the country, and she has never failed to inspire me and help me find my passion for this industry. She’s also doing a mini NZ tour this week, so head along and witness her magic.

SOAK – Auckland show tomorrow

I interviewed this rad girl yesterday (you can read that soon), and I’m heading along to her gig at The Golden Dawn tomorrow night. It’s door sales only, so get there early to ensure a ticket, and get ready for an amazing night. This gig is R18, just FYI.

Justin Bieber repeats history

I don’t know what Justin is doing, but he has put a video of him and some mates lip-syncing I Really Like You by Carly Rae Jepsen (remember that song she released before All That that was nowhere near as good) on the internet. It’s basically his Call Me Maybe video he did with Selena Gomez & Friends but newer and more shirtless.

Jaden Smith – Offering

Jaden dropped a track on his sister’s Soundcloud a few days ago and it’s pretty cool awesome! There are no words for describing the greatness that is this track, so just listen and feel.

Coachella happened

I spent the majority of last weekend watching the live stream of Coachella. It was amazing to see acts like Marina and the Diamonds, and Florence + The Machine back on stage performing new music. It was also so exciting to see Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett of Rilo Kiley reunite onstage to play Portions for Foxes.

Splendour In The Grass has an incredible lineup

*Commence saving for flights to Byron Bay in July*

The lineup to the biggest winter festival in Oceania has been announced. Mark Ronson, Florence + The Machine, MS MR, Blur, MØ, Jarryd James, the list goes on.

It is beyond exciting to just look at the full list on this poster – I hope I manage to make it across the sea for it!

Courtney Barnett – Kim’s Caravan

To finish The Haul this week, we have the new Courtney Barnett video. Kim’s Caravan has been one of my favourite tracks Courtney has released, and the music video just adds to the incredible song. It’s haunting, mesmerising, endearing and stimulating beyond belief. Courtney always wins!

That’s it for this week. Enjoy the weekend and head along to one of the many awesome gigs that are on offer. Yes? Yes.
