Broods have officially released their new album Conscious, ahead of their return to New Zealand for a nationwide tour.

The Nelson-born, Los Angeles-based duo’s first single from the album, Free, erupted onto the airwaves to a great response. It was just a taster of what was yet to come.

Caleb and Georgia Nott present a record that is full of catchy tunes. Couldn’t Believe is, without a doubt, one of my favourite Broods songs ever. It is a must for any playlist; you’ll soon have it on repeat.

You’ll get a surprise when popular international singer Tove Lo teams up for Freak of Nature, mid-way through the track list. Tove’s voice is the perfect addition to this pop ballad.

I remember when I first heard Broods, I thought it was Lorde. There were bound to be similarities, as they were working with the same producer, Joel Little, who has produced an array of hits. This album actually features a track – Heartlines – with Lorde, and it oozes the very reason why they are two of the biggest Kiwi artists on the international scene.

This thirteen-track gem is full of Broods’ signature electro-pop that everyone knows and loves. The much-anticipated second studio album, the follow-up to the successful Evergreen, radiates  pop anthems that will get stuck in your head for days.

Broods presents the Conscious tour in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin this July. Their new album ‘Conscious’ is available online and in stores now.
