I’m not ready
To develop a routine
To silently hate my boss
To monitor my Kiwisaver
To call Wednesday “hump day”
To use my education
To find a life partner
To worry if I’m infertile
To memorise traffic patterns
To network.

It seemed so infinite,
On some rooftop.
Toasting our impending freedom,
Deciding where to
Spend our summers.
