Somewhere between
stars and tears
I slipped through a crack.
Maybe before
I lied on the olefin carpet,
I’d snuck my heart
into the back of your jeans.
I think I lost grip
when you slid your fingers
into mine.
When you touched
the back of my hand
and placed your head
on my shoulder,
your hair brushed my cheek.
And my feet
kissed the ground.
I fell in love with you.
