Don’t you hate waking up a day before an event and not being able to decide what to wear? Then all your fashion sense decides to run and jump out the window and by the morning of the event, you still just don’t know what you’re doing.

With Auckland City Limits coming up, don’t let this be you.

Lacy whites, with their boho vibe, are always spotted at festivals. Anything white and lacy always looks absolutely gorgeous.

You can never go wrong with mini shorts and a crop top: casual and simple. Short denim overalls are making a comeback too. I have seen them here, there and everywhere. For the more casual, laid-back look, they’re definitely a go-to.

Sundresses are the ultimate summer essential. They’re perfect for early mornings where you just chuck one on and you’re dressed and looking effortlessly amazing. Same goes for maxi dresses; they’re definitely on the top of the list for suitable festival wear, because they’re hella comfy!

Now, shoes…

Leave the jandals at home – but sandals are all sweet. You want something that’s secured to your ankle, to ensure they don’t go missing in the crowd, leaving you barefoot. Sneakers are always the easiest go-to.

What to take to Auckand City Limits

Long hours outdoors can take a toll on you if you don’t stay hydrated. Do yourself (and the earth) a favour: instead of buying multiple water bottles, get a reusable water bottle and keep filling it up throughout the day. Hydration is key.

Sunblock, sunblock, sunblock! Need I say more? Oh yeah, a hat. Stay sun safe.

Don’t forget money for food and drinks throughout the day. ACL has electronic wristbands – you go to a ACL cashless wristband top-up stall and put money onto your band. They make purchases way faster and you can get your unspent money back at the end of the night!

Ponchos! Raincoats! Auckland weather can change from sun to rain in an instant, so be prepared.

Take a jumper or jacket for later on in the day. It can cool down quite quickly and if you’re not in the middle of the crowds jumping about it, can get very cold.

Tearaway will be at Auckland City Limits this weekend checking out the music, the fashion and the food. If you see Jess or Elliot, come and say hi and get your photo taken!
