The festival hosted Auckland students proudly performing kapa haka and traditional Pacific dance, while competing for trophies and the honour of best school group. Students competed on five stages – Cook Islands, Maori, Niue, Samoan and Tongan. There was a Diversity Stage featuring performances from a range of cultural groups including Chinese, Tuvaluan and Indian.
The Kura Matua Host School for the 2014 ASB Polyfest is Nga Puna O Waiorea – Western Springs College.
The theme selected for this year’s festival was – ‘Care for our seas and our lands, so that the safety of our homes, both present and past endures forever.’
